WHY, HELLO THERE!

I am honored to meet you. Since you're here, let's get acquainted! I’m Shamica Latrice Baxter. I am a certified life coach and a certified mental health first aid. I also have a Master's Degree in Business Administration. I am the founder/owner of The Baxter Initiative.

I have a unique story as to why I originally started The Baxter Initiative. Upon graduation from college with my undergraduate degree, I realized that I didn't have the experience or skills necessary to obtain employment (resume building, interview skills, networking, etc.) I went from undergrad to becoming a warehouse associate on an assembly line. Once I gained the skills necessary to get into my career field where I work with disadvantaged populations, I realized a lot of college and trade students were not in their career field because many of us weren't given the tools necessary to navigate the job market. This is why The Baxter Initiative for Hire provides these tools. I will go more into detail on the next page on the various services The Baxter Initiative provides (life coaching, podcast assistance, interviewing, and assisting college and trade students/graduates in getting into their career field.)

Let's talk about videos! My YouTube channel Dear Shamica uses an "Oprah" style approach in empowering every day people to tell their stories and challenge the perspectives of viewers. Some show topics have included grieving a spouse, life after divorce, weight loss and dating, domestic violence, bullying and so much more. I also have a series called "In The Gem" where professionals are able to drop knowledge in their fields of expertise.
